“are you happy?” often feels like an existential question. am i? do i have to be doing something exciting and BIG to earn this title?
a tiktok i saw (yes i have no shame in citing tiktok as an information source) said happy people are present and tend to appreciate the little things.
as a woman (here we go again) why does happiness feel so hard to achieve? is it because the patriarchy tells us joy and pain can’t coexist?
the one thing i’ve learned: we’re constantly building and rebuilding. this sounds more positive than simply “change is the only constant”, right? it gives us more control in creating the life we want and discovering happiness in the little things.
so, what’s making me happy? the smile on my dog’s face, my friends loving me so so well, exploring la, tying bows on everything, scouring fb marketplace for furniture, making silly playlists, my quiet little life.
listen to: whatever makes you happy ?
ps: i recently saw flyte and they were 10/10
